The launch of this call for projects follows a first call for projects launched in May 2021 and closed in September 2021. 4 projects have been selected in January 2022 for the development of innovative applications on 5G private networks.
According to the recommendations made by the mission on industrial 5G and in view with the results obtained on the previous call for projects, the call for projects has been renewed and reoriented towards industrial 5G applications.
The common political objective of France and Germany is to meet the connectivity needs of their industry, by strengthening a sovereign 5G ecosystem.
Regarding France, this call for projects is part of the 5G acceleration strategy. The strengthening of Franco-German cooperation is identified as one of the priorities of the axis 2 of this acceleration strategy, aiming at creating a sovereign offer on the telecom networks. „Regarding Germany, this call for projects contribute to the call for projects on 5G campus networks (“CampusOS”) which aims to promoting the development of private 5G networks in German industry on a national level.
Industrial players with a need of connectivity or having identified 5Guse cases are invited to express their interest by April 8, 2022. A matchmaking event will be organized on April 21, 2022 between users and solution providers. The call for projects will close on June 16, 2022.
